Having been with its lady owner for more than 29 years the vehicle has been serviced and maintained by Ford for its entire life.
The overall condition is simply stunning and a credit to its previous owner who took delivery on 17th of August 1989 by Ford main agent, Allen of Romford.

Exterior

Finished in its original factory finished Maritime Blue paint work.
We believe the vehicle wears its original factory fitted panels.
The exterior of this Ford Escort Popular looks stunning and presents to a show standard with just the very lightest of age related patina in places.
The paintwork is bright and extremely glossy following a professional detail and wax to the paint.

The exterior rubbers, factory etched glass, light lenses and trim are all original and in a fine condition.
The vehicle has been professionally detailed and prepared to a show standard with an eye on maintaining the original surface appearance and texture.

Interior

The interior presents beautifully showing virtually no wear to the switchgear or surfaces except the door handles which are prone to wear. The handles can of course be sanded and painted however we have left be.
The seats and door panels are finished in their original fabric.
Period features include a blanked off cigarette lighter, wind up windows, factory fitted Radio with blanked off cassette entry door and rubber mats.
All dials and switch gear function correctly and show no cracks or U.V damage to the dashboard.
It is like stepping back in time!

Engine and Transmission

The 1297cc engine and gearbox are original items.
Having benefitted from a service, new clutch, Ford battery, exhaust centre section and back box the vehicle performs without fault.
The vehicle has been prepared to be in a turnkey condition.

Wheels, Tyres and Brakes

The factory fitted wheels are fitted with 4 brand-new 155/80 13T correct specification Firestorm MultiHawk 2 tyres.
All brakes are in excellent condition benefitting from new brake fluid.

Boot

The boot floor shows no rust or accident damage, just a few minor marks and scratches from use over the years.
The parcel shelf is straight and free from any aftermarket speaker holes.
The boot contains its original factory jack, spare wheel, and Michelin MX tyre.

History

The vehicle has an extensive and detailed service history file from new with every invoice carefully logged in the history file, the file reads like a Swiss watch!
From experience it is rare to find a vehicle with full main agent service history, especially for this duration.
The file includes the original Ford service book with additional pages stamped due to the book running out of space, the first stamp being its 1500-mile service at 1090 miles, then a further 28 service stamps entered.
Included is the Ford Audio Premium Sound System book, owner’s handbook, original V5, original bill of sale and an invoice for additional warranty cover.
Four Ford keys, additional Ford service invoices, dealer number plate and supplying dealer rear window sticker.

It is extremely rare to find an 80s Ford in a time warp condition with annual Ford main agent service throughout its entire life and in our opinion, an appreciating Ford to own for not much money.
