Vehicle Information

The story

This Ford Sierra XR4i is in a beautiful and original condition throughout.
The vehicle has been cherished by its husband and wife custodians since the vehicle was just 10 months old.
They acquired it from a close friend who originally purchased the vehicle brand new from Currie Motors London.
This XR4i has been enjoyed by the family throughout its 34 years of ownership.

History

The vehicle has an extensive and detailed service history file from new. It was supplied by Ford main dealer Currie Motors London on the 1st of January 1985.
The original Ford service book contains only Ford main dealer service stamps, the first being its free service at 2,023 miles.
Included in the service history file are the original Currie Motors London drivers pouch, the original Ford stamped service book, Ford operating guide, Ford audio guide, Ford accessories poster, Ford motorists guide, Ford dealers map, Ford insurance flyer, extended warranty flyer and two Currie Motors London tax disc holders.

Also included with the vehicle are two Currie Motors London key rings, original Ford first aid kit, original Ford rubber over mats, all but four MOT certificates, a collection of tax discs, service invoices, original dealer number plates and rear window sticker, unused jack, snow chains, locking wheel nut set, spare bulbs and an original unused Ford tool kit and period immobiliser.

Exterior

The exterior of this XR4i looks the part finished in Diamond White with its striking bi-plane rear spoiler and body kit, pure 80s!
We believe the exterior presents to a show standard with just the lightest of age related patina in places.
The paintwork is bright and extremely glossy with the external body kit complimenting the vehicle superbly.
The exterior rubbers, glass, lenses and trim are original and in a fine condition.
The vehicle has been professionally detailed and prepared to a show standard with an eye on maintaining the original surface appearance and texture.
Due to the vehicle being garaged from new no sun bleaching is present to the trim, rubber or paint.

Interior

The interior presents beautifully showing hardly any wear to the switchgear or surfaces.
All dials and switch gear function correctly and the XR4i’s dashboard shows no cracks or U.V damage.
The front and rear seats are not marked and show virtually no wear.
The vehicle is fitted with electric windows, sunroof and the original Ford cassette radio with cassette storage.
The original Ford rubber mats are in place.

Engine and Transmission

The 2792cc V6 fuel injected engine has just benefited from a major service and health check. We have also replaced the engine coolant, gearbox oil, diff oil and battery.
Other service and age related parts have been replaced which have been documented and added to the service history file.
The engine runs extremely smoothly and the car is a joy to drive.
The vehicle’s undercarriage, wheel arches and engine bay have been steam cleaned and show no signs of welding.

Wheels, tyres and brakes

The four 14-inch alloy wheels are original and have not needed any refurbishment, all four alloys show the Ford factory markings with just the one alloy showing a very minor scuff.
Brand new 195/60 VR14 Michelin Classic MXV3-A tyres have been fitted which are the correct speed rating for the XR4i’s tyre specification.
The vehicle also benefits from new front discs and pads with serviced rear drum brakes and new brake fluid.

Boot

The parcel shelf is unmarked and the boot contains its original Ford first aid kit.
The boot carpet is unmarked with the unused Ford tool kit fitted.
The original spare alloy wheel with period Uniroyal Rallye rain tyre and jack are all present and unused.

To Finish

This is an extremely rare vehicle to find in such an original condition throughout.
The vehicle is unmodified and in our opinion extremely desirable in the current classic Ford market.
The vehicle has not been on the market for over 34 years.
We are confident you will not struggle to find a finer Ford Sierra XR4i than this example.

We have documented all recent work with invoices being supplied to the vehicle’s service history file.
